Friends of the Floral City Library
The Friends of the Library are non-profit organizations dedicated to enhancing public library service for the citizens of Citrus County. Friends are people who love books, love to read, and want to help others enjoy the pleasure of reading. Friends raise money to support the library through memberships, used-book sales, promotional item sales, special events, and donations.
About the Floral City Friends
Over 30 years ago, in 1983, the Floral City Women’s Club saw the need to form a special group to address the needs of the Floral City Library. Because of this need, the Friends of the Floral City Library was officially incorporated on March 28, 1983. They celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2013.
The Friends work to support the Floral City Library in a multitude of ways. They sponsor classes and special events, volunteer their time at the library and during book sales, and work with other organizations in the community. The Friends were also integral in pushing for a new library in Floral City that complimented the town’s historical aesthetics.
