“Get Your Art On!” at the Lakes Region Library
Interested in art? Don’t know how to start? Now is the perfect time to give it a try. The Lakes Region Library in Inverness will be hosting art programs in mid-May for various ages and interests.
On Wednesday, May 18th at 1:30 PM, join us for this month’s Adults Create. In this class, you will paint your own desert scene using acrylics and canvas.
Dr. Ron Higgins, CRI, will present this month’s Art Talk “The Joy of Painting” on Thursday, May 19th at 10:30 AM. He will discuss the Bob Ross Method plus his own experiences with oil painting and the many benefits it offers on a personal level. His art will also be on display at Lakes Region Library throughout the month of May.
If paint isn’t your style, you can try “Drawing with Elaine Draws” on Tuesday, May 24th at 10:30 AM. Elaine Draws will introduce some basic techniques you can use to draw the person who inspires you. This is a small class for seniors to enjoy.
We didn’t forget about the school-aged kids! On Tuesday, May 24th at 4:30 PM, join our youth librarian for this month’s Kids Create. This beginner class will teach some basic painting techniques with watercolors and canvas.
Registration is required for the painting and drawing classes as supplies are limited.
