Get Techy at the Library
Gone are the days of receiving a manual when you purchase a new device, and it’s frustrating to spend money on something with nothing to help you learn how to use it. An internet search isn’t always the easiest thing to learn with, but there’s another resource you can always turn to for help: your local library.
All five branches of the Citrus County Library System offer tech help in the form of group classes that are centered around a specific topic; these range from beginner-to-intermediate usage of smartphones, how to use Libby to access the library system’s digital resources, or even how to shop online, deliver dinner, or use graphic design programs. These classes incorporate Q&A time for any unanswered questions.
Our branches also offer one-on-one individualized help for your technology needs. View our calendar and search for “Book-a-Librarian” to sign up with your name and question to reserve a time slot to meet with one of our staff and have your questions answered. These appointments are available at the Lakes Region, Central Ridge, Homosassa or Coastal Region branches. The Floral City branch offers weekly tech help with a volunteer, no reservation required!
That said, you can always give us a call or visit your closest branch with any questions you might have. If extensive help is necessary, you may be asked to book a one-on-one appointment with a library staff member to ensure that enough time can be set aside for an unrushed experience. These appointments are available on request and vary depending on the library’s schedule.
Library programs are free and available to everyone! However, seating is limited and registration for technology programs is required. Please register online using our calendar, or by calling your nearest library.
