Online dementia resource and support groups to be offered by Citrus Libraries and Coping with Dementia
The Citrus County Library System and Coping with Dementia LLC have teamed up to pilot a new program, providing a free support group and resource information to families and care partners who are living with dementia. The program, called the Citrus Libraries Coping Connection, is designed primarily for individuals who do not have computer access and will begin on Tuesday, November 2 at 1:00 PM.
Conducted through online, real-time video communication via Zoom, the meetings will be hosted by Certified Dementia Practitioner Debbie Selsavage from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Those who are interested will come to the Central Ridge Library in Beverly Hills to meet in person. This “hybrid” style meeting will allow for a small group of people to meet in person at the library, and attend the virtual meeting together.
It is recommended that participants arrive at the Central Ridge Library, located at 425 W. Roosevelt Blvd in Beverly Hills, by 12:50 PM on the day of the meeting. Participants are not required to remain for the full two hours. A moderator with experience in dementia-specific support will be in attendance at the meetings, with support provided by Citrus Libraries staff.
This program is free and available to anyone. Please register in advance of each meeting. For more information about registering, please call the Central Ridge Library at 352-746-6622 or go to the library’s website, citruslibraries.org.
