Citrus County Invited to Celebrate National Library Week April 3-9

Beginning the first full week of April, the Citrus County Library System is encouraging all community members to discover, learn and engage with our services and programs. Citrus Libraries offers a variety of resources for all ages both in the branches and online.

April 3-9, 2022 is the annual celebration of National Library Week, a time to highlight the essential role that libraries and their staff play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. The theme for National Library Week 2022 is “Connect with Your Library,” which promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers and other resources. Libraries also offer opportunities to connect with media, programs and classes, and creative ideas showing that they continue to provide for the community beyond books. And, most importantly, libraries strive to connect communities to one another, allowing partnerships to flourish.

Libraries of all types continue to go above and beyond to keep their communities connected by expanding resources and embracing inclusion in their programming, resources and collections. Libraries across the country are making a difference in people’s lives by providing electronic learning resources, like online directories and wi-fi access for students and workers who may lack internet access at home. Citrus Libraries continues to support the community with expanded services such as Outdoor Wi-Fi, Virtual Storytimes. Additionally our on-going partnerships with community organizations have reinforced the knowledge that together, we can accomplish anything for the betterment of Citrus County.

This National Library Week, the public can show their support for libraries by visiting their nearest branch to sign-up for a library card, following us on social media, or becoming a Friend of the Library.
