A New Catalog Experience Coming Soon!
A whole new user experience for the library’s online catalog will be unveiled on Monday, December 11, 2023 to the Citrus Libraries patrons!
These exciting new changes will allow patrons to access the library’s physical and digital materials with a simpler, more intuitive experience. Some of the new features will include:
- Easy discovery of new books and resources with browsable displays and a powerful new search engine.
- Available formats displayed together for each title in search results and lists.
- For example, if you search for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers’ Stone, you’ll find the book, audiobook, e-book, e-audiobook, and Kindle book all under one record. No more scrolling through countless search results looking for your preferred item type.
- All of your holds and checkouts in one place – whether you’re using physical materials or you’re a fan of Libby!
- Check out, place holds, and preview, audiobooks, and eBooks right from this new catalog experience.
- Reader recommendations — receive recommendations based on items that you rate. These will start to appear after you’ve rated at least 5 items.
Important things to note about this transition:
- Your library card number, PIN number and list of checked out items will remain the same.
- If you have the URL for the catalog saved to your computer, you won’t need to change the bookmark.
- Currently we use the phrase “suspend” for pausing a hold. In the new catalog the phrase to look for will be “freeze.” Same result – different wording!
- Any lists you’ve created can be imported with the click of a button!
Additional information will be made available to patrons after the transition to the new catalog is completed. Make sure to check back here on Monday, December 11 to review the new “Help” page that will be ready to walk you through this new system.
