Interlibrary Loan
Citrus County Library System’s Interlibrary Loan Service (ILL) offers library cardholders in good standing the ability to request items that the library does not currently own or have on order within the library catalog. This service is provided in collaboration with partner libraries around the state and across the continental U.S. to promote the borrowing and sharing of materials.
ILL requests can be made from the ILL page on the library’s website. Requests may also be made over the telephone.
No fees are associated with ILL requests. However, patrons will be charged a replacement fee for any ILL items that are lost or damaged.
ILL items may be borrowed for three (3) weeks and cannot be renewed. Patrons may request up to five (5) ILL items.
The following items are not available through ILL:
- Materials published within the last 6 months
- Any type of digital material or collection
- Duplicates of material that the library already owns
- Magazines or periodicals
ILL items must be returned to the customer service desk at any branch location with original paperwork included. ILL items must never be placed in a book drop.
ILL service is a courtesy provided to libraries by other libraries. Continuous disregard of due dates and/or failure to pick up requested items may result in the loss of ILL privileges.
