Library Hours to Change in January 2025

Beginning January 4, 2025 the Citrus County Library System will be adjusting their Saturday hours. The Coastal Region branch in Crystal River will be reopening to the public from 9AM – 4PM. The Central Ridge branch in Beverly Hills, Lakes Region branch in Inverness, and Homosassa branch will now be opening on Saturdays at 9AM, creating consistency across the board throughout the week, and will remain open until 4PM. The Floral City branch will be closed on Saturdays.  All branches will continue to be closed on Sundays. The table below includes complete details of hours changes including varied closing times throughout the week.

With the completion of the renovation of the Lakes Region branch in Inverness, the Crystal River branch renovations have begun. “Returning Saturday hours to the Coastal Region branch has been a goal since the conversations began about renovation. We are putting more than half a million dollars into the upgrades to the now 37-year-old building, including 2 new study rooms and a new meeting room,” said Library Director Adam Chang. “The staff and Friends of the Coastal Region branch are excited for the opportunity to serve the Crystal River community at a time that will provide additional accessibility for the residents in the area, especially families.” There will be a Winter Wonderland event on Saturday, January 4 from 11AM-2PM with crafts and activities for all ages as a “welcome back” to the Saturday hours. The site provides detailed schedules of events and programs at all locations and well as highlights for upcoming classes. Materials can be requested online for pick-up at a location nearest you and renewal of items is also available.
