In honor of the event which propelled the United States into World War II, partake in History Hour: Pearl Harbor and the U.S. Navy in the Pacific at the Homosassa Library on Saturday, December 7 at 1:30 PM. This program will feature a presentation on the attack on Pearl Harbor and subsequent naval battles in the Pacific, the unprecedented growth of the Navy, and the evolvement of carrier tactics in the U.S. Navy. By the end of the war, the U.S. Navy would rule the seas supreme and was unparalleled in its size, its development and production of ships, and tactical doctrine.
