Do You Have an Interesting Collection to Share?

The Library System is always looking for members of the community who wish to share these items with the Library for a month. Past displays include military artifacts from WWII, woodworking, antique valentines, vintage clothing, scroll work, turtles, patterns, decorative eggs, rhinoceroses, and a miniature circus. 

Displays provide exposure to the work of artisans and artists, or provide information on subjects of general interest to the public. The display cases are secured.

Clubs & Groups

Origami Club-First Monday of each month at Coastal Region Library from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm. All Ages are welcome.

Book Club- Every third Friday at the Central Ridge Library from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Book Share- Every third Friday at the Floral City Public Library from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Come and share your love of reading with others.

Community Book Club - Every third Friday at the Lakes Region Library from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm

Newcomer's Book Club - Every fourth Thursday at the Lakes Region Library from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm

Games!

The library offers a meeting place for people to enjoy a variety of activities. Gaming at the library consists of traditional board games and Wii console gaming. Check out the schedules on our calendars and invite your friends to join you for gaming at the library.

Traditonal Games:

Chess Club-Thursday at Homosassa Public Library at 2:00. New chess players are always welcome!
Scrabble-The Scrabble Players have been playing for several years at the Central Ridge Library.

Wiikend Warriors!-Saturdays at Central Ridge Library.

Monday, October 4th 10:00 am - 7:00 pm (Half-price day)
Tuesday, October 5th 10:00 am - 3:00 pm ($3 per bag)

Landscape Short Course & Plant Clinic

Trained Master Gardener volunteers of the University of Florida Citrus County Extension offer a free monthly Landscape Short Course & Plant Clinic at your library.  Each month a Master Gardener presents a short educational program and is available to answer horticultural questions. Information provided is researched-based, Florida friendly, and non-biased.

Coastal Region Library, 2nd Friday of the month, 1:30PM - 2:30PM
Floral City Public Library, 1st Wednesday of the month, 2:00PM - 3:00PM

NaNoWriMo

Have you always wanted to write a novel? Have you started a novel but not finished? Do you need to know how to edit and “shape up” your novel? Published authors lead the way. Get encouraged. Get inspired. Get writing!

What is NaNoWriMo? Sign up Here! Make sure to join the Citrus County Florida Region.
National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.
