TUTOR INFORMATION
Can you imagine going through life being unable to read?
Please consider becoming an adult literacy volunteer tutor for the Citrus County Library System. If interested, we will provide the necessary training so that you can become a qualified literacy tutor who can provide free tutoring to an adult wanting to learn to read and write English.

If you are over the age of 18 and would like to help people in your community and you are able to donate a minimum of 1 to 2 hours per week to assist an adult learner, this is your opportunity!

So, what requirements are there to be an adult literacy volunteer tutor?

First, the volunteer tutor will be required to attend a 12-hour LitStart Training Workshop. Second, the volunteer tutor should have the following personality attributes:
Tutor with learner

• Patience
• Caring attitude
• Flexibility
• Reliability
• Organizational skills
• Respect
• Nonjudgmental disposition
